Glowing Sunsets

In the middle of this hot summer, we grabbed our passports and Jack Rogers to venture to the Dominican Republic for a tropical getaway. Whether we were sipping a daiquiri by the pool, kissing dolphins in hopes for a prince or salsa dancing into the night, it was clear that the vast world is ours to discover.

Where we were…

You might have been wondering what this super exciting thing we were talking about was and we finally have that answer for you. MGP got to take a trip to the Dominican Republic! It was the trip of a lifetime and being able to take it with your best friend was incredible. Swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, boats rides, laying by the beach, and so much more was what our last week consisted of. We will have another post coming soon of a shoot we did on the trip but for right now I hope you enjoy just a few random pictures from our trip to paradise!

Valentine’s Day Treats That Will Melt Your Heart

If you are in need of some last minute gift ideas, then you have come to the right place! Food is probably one of the best things you can give your significant other because I mean who doesn’t like food. I have come up with 4 easy treats that will make anyone smile this Valentine’s Day! I’m even planning on giving some of these treats to my boyfriend this year! Hope you all have a great day tomorrow spent with the ones you love!

Pretzel Hershey Kisses

Ingredients:

  • Pretzels
  • Hershey’s Kisses
  • Valentine’s M&M’s

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Place the pretzels on the paper and top each of them with a kiss.
  4. Bake for about 2 minutes or until the chocolate is shiny and soft, but not melting. They should still hold their shape.
  5. Carefully place an M&M in the center of each kiss and press down to spread the chocolate.
  6. Place in the refrigerator to allow them to harden.

Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

Ingredients:

  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • 3 ounces white chocolate
  • 1 pound strawberries

Directions:

  1. Put the semisweet and white chocolates into 2 separate heatproof medium bowls.
  2. Fill 2 medium saucepans with a couple inches of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Turn off the heat; set the bowls of chocolate over the water to melt. Stir until smooth.
  4. Once the chocolates are melted and smooth, remove from the heat.
  5. Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper.
  6. Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip the fruit into the chocolate, lift and twist slightly, letting any excess chocolate fall back into the bowl.
  7. Set strawberries on the parchment paper.
  8. Dip a fork in the white chocolate and drizzle the white chocolate over the dipped strawberries. *You could also use food color to dye the white chocolate like we did*
  9. Set the strawberries aside until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Wafers

Processed with VSCOcam with c2 preset

Ingredients:

  • white melting chocolate
  • wafer cookies
  • variety of Valentine’s Day sprinkles
  • parchment or wax paper

Directions:

  1. Start by melting your chocolate as directed on package.
  2. While you are waiting for the chocolate to melt, gather your sprinkles and wafers. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. This will prevent sticking while they dry.
  3. Once chocolate is melted, dip the top half of a wafer cookie.
  4. Quickly sprinkle on your chosen sprinkles.
  5. Lay wafers on wax paper. My wafers were totally dry within 35 minutes, but this may vary on what melting chocolate you use.

Don’t have time to get into the kitchen? Stick with one of these gift ideas and you’re golden!
